    Who we are
    Hopskotch Kindergarten are privately run early childhood and care facilities in both Toongabbie and Schofields. We are run by a professional team dedicated to providing a happy and stimulating environment for children aged between 6 weeks old to when they start school. We hope to enrich the lives of all who are given the opportunity to our caring, welcoming and diverse community.  

    We are open from 7.00am to 6pm five days a week, 49 weeks a year and close on public holidays.

    We offer a high quality program based on research of best practice through continual collaboration and reflection.

    We are committed to building trusting, caring and secure relationships with each child by providing them with an environment that honours diversity making each child feel valued and loved. We uphold the rights of the child at all times sparking their curiosity’s by providing meaningful experiences.

    Gae de Gooyer

    Gae is a primary school teacher with over 30 years’ experience in the education of young children. Gae has been running quality children’s services since 2001 and is hugely passionate about the education of the children within her care. Gae’s innovative approach keeps her applied knowledge of education and programing years ahead of the field. 

    Rob de Gooyer

    Rob is known to the children as ‘Bob the Builder’. He is our leading maintenance man, gardening expert, I.T. consultant and WH&S specialist. Rob has a great way with the children and is able to support fellow staff as they continue to add to and refine their knowledge.

    Gae and Rob are passionate about the continual improvement of our staff and remain up to date with the latest research in early childhood development. The pair is supported by a team of university-trained teachers and diploma-trained educators, many of which have been working together for several years. Our educators are caring, enthusiastic and passionate individuals with a mutual dedication to the children within our care.

    Our services

    • Hopskotch caters for children aged six weeks to six years old
    • Our opening hours are from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
    • Our childcare centres are open 49 weeks each year

    The Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Rebate are applied to your fees and can reduce expenses by up to 50 percent. Fees are available upon request from our centres.
